Brendan Jenkinson steps down

Congratulations and thanks to Brendan Jenkinson of Terenure College RFC / Kilkenny RFC who is stepping back from refereeing life after 52 years. Brendan performed roles as a referee, evaluator, a mentor and informally a source of support and guidance to countless referees in South East and beyond. It is estimated that he formally evaluated / mentored 500 referees over his years in the association. Brendan was also was President of the Leinster Referees in the 1998 / 1999 season and lifetime achievement award winner in 2015/16.

Brendan also acted as the Exchange Secretary (before the days of IPAS) where he managed to movement of referees across the provinces to support their development. Brendan was honoured and thanked for his long, dedicated and selfless service to refereeing in Leinster at a recent function in Kilkenny RFC
Ciaran O’Brien represented the Leinster Rugby President at the event. Others present were Martin Farrelly (President LRR) Dave Robb, Ian Hayes, Willy Murphy, Lar Conroy and Gary Brickell (Leinster Youths) and members of the Jenkinson family. Mick Hennigan President of Kilkenny made a presentation to Brendan also.
