Annual Dinner
March 14, 2017 in News

As you know, we regard our Annual Dinner as one of the main highlights of our year. It is a celebration of the 2016/17 season that, so far at least, has been highly successful for the ARLB. That success is entirely due to your efforts, both on and off the pitch. The Dinner is also where we get to meet up with the other members of OUR club and renew friendships that are otherwise not easy to maintain. We will also honour 3 deserving members of our Association with Awards.
This year, the Dinner is taking place on Saturday April 1st, in Lansdowne FC, just a few hours after we watch Leinster play Wasps in the Quarter Final of the ERCC. Amongst others, we will be joined by the President of the IRFU, former International Referee Stephen Hilditch, who is also an excellent speaker. “Legendary” rugby player Ross O’Carroll Kelly will reply to the toast on behalf of the guests, which should be interesting!
As President, I have represented the ARLB at numerous functions/events this season. Specifically, the ARLB President is invited to the annual dinners of Leinster clubs, and is always treated as a special guest, with great courtesy and respect. Whilst delighted to accept on your behalf, the real “thank you” is to you. Our funds do not allow us to reciprocate with invitations to the Presidents of these clubs, but if those of you who are members of these clubs were to get together and invite your club President along to the ARLB dinner as your guest, I’m sure a discounted ticket would be provided (Please discuss with Wayne Sheridan, who has “volunteered” to take the lead on organising this year’s dinner).
Application Form is attached and I hope that you will be able to join me along with fellow referees on the night as we celebrate another season “well done”.
I thank you in advance and ask if you could email Wayne either “YES” or “NO” shortly via arlbdinnerhonsec@gmail.com (and return your Application to Denis as appropriate).
